Which wrist wraps to choose?
The choice of which wraps in terms of strength and length is a personal one and depends on many factors and Strengthshop caters for all types of strength athletes. Often lifters try couple different models to find the most suitable one.
For functional training the shorter and more supple 30 or 50 cm wraps are most popular. This gives a good balance of support together with freedom for wrist angle changes with high rep cleans for instance. The strength should be moderate to light.
Similar wraps are preferred in weightlifting so that the wrist wraps would give the needed support without slowing down the speed of going around the bar in cleans and snatches. Our non stretch "Russian style" wraps are also popular with weightlifters.
In strongman needs vary from medium strength to heavier models. Log, axle, viking press and so on benefit from decent support, as well as many other strongman events. Tastes vary, with some strongmen wanting just moderate support so the wrist wraps do not get in the way of cleaning the log or axle, and using the wraps in for instance loading or type flip style events.
Powerlifters needs vary a lot depending on weight class and strength levels, and we provide all the way to super heavy support in 90cm length!
